I hope you all have enjoyed an amazing weekend!

I am excited to share that students can now earn tickets from any staff member when they are doing a great job meeting expectations in the classroom and around the school. Teachers and grade level teams have been collaborating to develop options students can choose from to cash in their tickets to enjoy. Watch for more news on the ticket rewards system in the coming weeks.

We are almost half-way through the first nine week grading period. Progress Reports will be coming home with students this Wednesday. I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions about this first round of progress reports.

Assessments Update

All students have been very busy throughout September completing a number of assessments. The teachers look forward to sharing assessment data with you in a parent conference later this fall once all assessments are complete. Watch for notification from your child's teacher about coming in for a conference in October.

Title I Parent Night

Each fall, our school hosts a Title I Parent Night to review Title I information. This year I would like to also introduce you to a new tool we are using in school this year, iReady. This will be a virtual Parent Night event live in Google Meet on Tuesday, September 28.

The Spanish session is at 4:30 pm at meet.google.com/afs-rszf-sds
The English session is at 5:15 pm at meet.google.com/cdf-kbhj-kgw
I hope you can join me for this virtual parent meeting!
Around The Campus

Morning Car Riders

Thank you for your patience as we have worked to improve morning traffic flow! We have a significantly larger number of car riders in the mornings and afternoons this year. Please continue to line up in the right hand lane each morning until a staff member comes out to begin directing cars into the left lane. We work hard on the front of the line to ensure the lanes are merged quickly for drop off. Thank you!

Afternoon Car Riders

Please display your yellow car rider sign on the driver side dash where it will be visible to the staff member calling students to cars each afternoon. If you need a car rider sign, you may request one in the office.

Interested in Cub Scouts?
There will be a Join Scout Night for Cub Scouting and Scouts BSA on Thursday night at 6:30 PM.  Representatives will be at the school.  Boys and Girls in Grades K-6 are welcome to join.  If your child would like to participate in a program that includes camping, shooting sports, rockets, and other outdoor activities like fishing, then Cub Scouting may be a great program for you and your family.  Feel free to come to the school on Thursday night to talk with the local Cub Scouting and Scouts BSA Representatives.

Spirit Day
We celebrate the SSHS Homecoming with a spirit day this Friday! Students and staff are encouraged to wear red and black to show our support and excitement for SSHS Homecoming.

Dental Bus
If you are interested in the services provided by Kintegra with their Dental Bus, please return Dental Bus Forms by this Friday, September 24.
